Ensure Accuracy with the InviroSNAP! Blunt Fill Needle

Blunt fill needles are an effective way of reducing needlestick injuries in the healthcare field. Used to prepare medication for injection, the Inviro SNAP! Blunt Fill Needle is best used in conjunction with the InviroSNAP! with InviroSTRIPE Luer Lock Retractable Safety Syringe, the Inviro Luer Lock Syringe with InviroSTRIPE, or the standard Luer Lock Syringe.

While not designed for patient injection but rather for penetration into vials, the InviroSNAP! Blunt Fill Needle has a blunt, rounded tip that helps to prevent needlestick injuries from occurring. Each needle ensures more protection for healthcare workers. The blunt fill needles can be used in combination with the InviroSNAP! Luer Lock Safety Syringe and other needles for patient injection or intravenous port bag access or with the Inviro Luer Lock Syringe with InviroSTRIPE or standard Luer Lock Syringes for needlefree connector intravenous injection.

The Correct Way to Use Blunt Fill Needles

Inviro’s blunt fill needles are designed to work with Inviro’s other needles effortlessly. The maximum needle length should not exceed 1 1/2" or 38.1 mm. To use:

Peel package as indicated to allow proper removal of InviroSNAP! Blunt Fill Needle.
Depending on medication administration method, attach InviroSNAP! Blunt Fill Needle onto the InviroSNAP! LL Safety Syringe or standard luer lock syringe of choice.
Prepare vial for medication draw up.
Penetrate center of vial with InviroSNAP! Blunt Fill Needle.
Draw up medication per facility protocol.
Depending on medication administration method,
- prepare the IV Port Bag injection site and administer medication
- remove the InviroSNAP! Blunt Fill Needle and dispose of per facility protocol and
  - Connect Inviro Luer Lock Syringe or standard luer lock syringe into needlefree connector IV injection site.
  - For patient injection, attach needle size of choice, remove needle cap, and administer medication per facility protocol.
To engage the safety mechanism, depress the plunger fully to enable retraction of the needle.
Pull back on plunger until it clicks; observe withdrawal of needle into barrel.
Snap off plunger to permanently disable syringe.
Discard immediately in a sharps container per facility protocol.
